Polpis 5x5 oil on board $250 framed Sold

The Nantucket show was yesterday. It was a huge success. Everyone sold paintings. My paintings were well received. Every on commented on my emerging style.
Polpis is a great place to see the sunset. This is not a sunset, but it is late in the day. I was lucky to capture the birds. I love this painting because of its size (so small) yet it draws you in. It is in a floating frame which helps to keep the landscape going - does not close it in. This painting is typical of my "comfortable" style. Very quiet.

All Alone oil 4x6 $225 framed sold

Many of the paintings for this Nantucket show are small. This boat caught my attention - alone by the grasses on the shore- no other boats, no person to claim it.

In Madaket Oil 5x5 $325 framed

Now that Smith Point has "shrunk" there are other ways of getting there. This is a view from one of the access points to Smith Point. I walked out a little away from the point looking the other way and captured this scene. It is painted on board.

This is smith point before the dunes were washed away. It looks completely different now. Several houses near by are now gone. I started this painting a few years ago, but never finished it. I was inspired to finish it after seeing the damage done.

Beautiful place to walk in Nantucket when you want a break from the water...but the path does lead eventually to the water.

This was painted from the bridge in Madaket as the light was going down.

Morning Monomoy Oil 9x14 $895 framed Sold
because it was low tide, I was able to walk along the shore further than I had ever before. I have painted Monomy from several angles before but never was I able to at this longer and wider perspective. It was early in the morning, very quite and so beautiful.
